Eligibility Modifications

New CEC rule modifications now require riders to qualify in order to move up to a higher division.  With regards to the Eligibility Participation chart for 2009 on page 23 and 24 of the Omnibus…please note that the definition of a Canadian Qualifying result is below:

‘Qualifying results (QR) must be obtained in the calendar year in question or the two preceding calendar years.’
For 2009 you would look at results for 09, 08 & 07.

A QR does not need to be achieved in Canada; you may use QR’s from the US or from other countries as well.

 

Training level: 

Open to all competitors and horses (not necessarily as a combination) that have completed a minimum of 3 events at the Pre-Training level, achieving a CAN qualifying result in a minimum of 2 events.

CAN qualifying result:

Dressage:  Not less than 50% of good marks in the dressage test (equals 75 penalty points in FEI and Equine Canada Eventing competitions, 50 penalty points in USEF Eventing competitions)

Stadium: Not more than 16 penalties at obstacles

Cross Country: horse and rider (not necessarily as a combination) achieving a clear round on cross country and no more than 90 seconds of time faults at 2 events at the Pre training level.

 

Preliminary level: 

Open to all competitors and horses (not necessarily as a combination) that have completed a minimum of 4 events at the Training level, achieving a CAN qualifying result in a minimum of 3 events.

CAN qualifying result:

Dressage:  Not less than 50% of good marks in the dressage test (equals 75 penalty points in FEI and Equine Canada Eventing competitions, 50 penalty points in USEF Eventing competitions)

Stadium: Not more than 16 penalties at obstacles

Cross Country: horse and rider (not necessarily as a combination) achieving a clear round on cross country and no more than 90 seconds of time faults at 3 events at the Training level.

 

Intermediate level

Open to all competitors and horses (not necessarily as a combination) that have completed a minimum of 4 events at the Preliminary level, achieving a CAN qualifying result in a minimum of 2 events.

CAN qualifying result:

Dressage:  Not less than 50% of good marks in the dressage test (equals 75 penalty points in FEI and Equine Canada Eventing competitions, 50 penalty points in USEF Eventing competitions)

Stadium: Not more than 16 penalties at obstacles

Cross Country: horse and rider (not necessarily as a combination) achieving a clear round on cross country and no more than 90 seconds of time faults at 2 events at the Prelim Level.
